If you have lost your Jaxx Liberty password, this article will cover your options.
The password you have set in Jaxx Liberty is device and session-dependent. This means that the password does not transfer to other devices you have the wallet paired on and if you pair another wallet (or re-pair the same wallet) or re-install the application, the password will be deleted.
If you have your 12-word backup phrase, the simplest way to bypass the password is to re-pair it to your device. Before doing this, be sure you have the correct 12-word backup phrase, pair the wallet on another device first and check if the wallet addresses and balances match.
How to re-pair your wallet
To re-pair your wallet, go to MENU > Tools > Pair / Restore Existing Wallet > Backup your 12-word phrase if you didn’t yet> Continue to pair or restore wallet > Overwrite Backup Phrase > Overwrite Backup Phrase > and enter the 12-word backup phrase to restore the wallet. The GIF file below will help you through the process and shows how to set up a new password if you want that option active.
If you do not have your 12-word backup phrase, please know that as a security measure, we do not store any private wallet information on any server. Jaxx Liberty is meant to be used as a decentralized (anonymous) wallet where only the user has full control over their digital assets. Your wallet security information (12-word backup phrase & private keys) never leave your device and we don't have a centralized way of managing the users' wallets/accounts since we never have those details. We are therefore unable to recover your 12-word backup phrase for you as we never had access to it or a record of it by design.
The only way to access a wallet is to use the assigned 12-word backup phrase. If the issue persists, try inserting your backup phrase into another wallet. If this does not work, you will not be able to access the wallet.
